Trading in the Zone Master the Market with Confidence Discipline and a Winning Attitude

Douglas, president of the seminar firm Trading Behavior Dynamics, focuses on the psychology of successful traders. Instead of offering specific strategies, he advises readers, “The first step on the road…is to understand and completely accept the psychological realities of trading.” It may be too abstract for some, but given trading’s risks, this book could assist experienced investors willing to engage in self-reflection. 4 Stars Meet your psychologist
This book provides psychological training for trading, just like when u’re taking part in competitive sports. Players are brought through some psyche sessions to stregnthen levels of determination and perseverance. This book provides training in a layman language which i find very useful
2 Stars Not much of helpful information
Bought the book after reading all other good reviews but was dissapointed. This books has too much repitation of same example which was a bit annoying. Chapter 11 excercise wasn’t helpful. After reading the book I walked away with nothing helpful to improve my trading. Very dissapointed.

5 Stars Trading in the Zone
Very pleased - the book arrived when promised and in excellent condition. A great savings over buying retail.
5 Stars AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME (for me)
OK - If you are an experienced trader with a plan, but can’t make yourself trust the plan “Pull the Trigger”, then this is the book for you. I did another review that doesn’t seem to be here, but I gave it 4 stars, because I still could not enter a trade without fear. 2 days later after STUDYING Mr. Douglas’s book, I get it - the information entered my soul and at this time I am trading with confidence instead of fear. Not 100% confidence yet, but see me in 30 days and I will be telling a different story if I just apply my plan which I now can do.
To me that is all this book is about. Getting the fearful trader to lose his/her fear and follow through with all the learning that they know will work.
2 Stars I ran out of air reading it
I trusted the favourable reviews I read here and decided to give it a go besides the negative ones. Well, sometimes the majority’s opinion turns out to be a misleading signal.
I found reading this book like walking up a long spiral stairway where you need to drag yourself along and make a real effort to continue. The book goes in circles. The author clearly tries to hide what he is meant to reveal for pages and pages over. He beats a subject to death, to the point of absolute boredom. Finsihing reading the book is a real challenge.
I really wanted to like it because the concept appealed to me, but the book was very much disappointing.
Additionally, when you think he finally dealt with a concept he comes back to it a few pages later and gives it the same treatment (i.e. unecessary detalied explanation again!).
I thik the strategy Mr Douglas tried to use was repeating the key points over and over again so they would stick to our minds, but it did not go well with my style. The man is a really poor writer and I doubt he has any real experience with the market himself (it certaily doesn’t look like).
Besides all the bad aspects I pointed out, I think he does have a point about what he termed “the zone”, which I understood as a mindset or a state of mind that he reckons one needs to achieve in order to operate in the market so naturally and free from false, self-distracting or destructive thinking, that it would work almost like an autopilot. This is what he calls the zone. Almost like the way an experienced driver drives in a big city arriving safe at his destination without being caught in accidents or by the traffic rage. In summary, if you can achieve this state of mind you can “trade in the zone”.
OK, did you get that? I am not a native English language speaker (I’m a Brazilian). How can someone like me convey that in a paragraph and he needs over 200 pages to say just that…

2 Stars an outline of option value fundamentals - however difficult to follow
Frey explains the price effects of option premiums. He is definitely knowledgeable on the subject of option price behavior vs the value of the underlying stock and time decay. His presentation however, is poor. There are many more DVDs that explain the subject better and have better examples on the topic… with better teachers.
1 Star Option Trading DVD
I didn’t think the DVD was worth the price. I really didn’t get any knowledge worth using. The product is way overpriced and not professionally
edited.
5 Stars This has opened up some new ways fro me to hedge in this volatile market.
Having most of my money in 401k’s and in my company stocks I have accumulated over the years, I have found much value in options to protect myself. Until I saw this I knew the meanings of options but did not understand the concepts of time decay and the types of spreads available for simple investors like me. This has opened up a whole new chapter in my style of investing and I can now sleep better knowing I have hedges protecting my major assets. Thank you Mr. Frey!!

Is foreign exchange trading a true get rich quick scheme? Foreign exchange trading, or Forex, is a real opportunity to get extremely wealthy in a very short amount of time. How? The key is leverage. Some Forex brokers allow you a leverage ratio of 200:1. That is the equivalent of investing $1,000 into a $200,000 asset, and an asset that you could turn around and trade within seconds for a quick profit if done correctly! Forex trading involves dealing in international currencies. Here, one can sell currency of one country to buy that of another. The trader deals in Foreign Exchange [Forex] at the most appropriate time to profit from the transaction. Good ability to forecast plays a vital role here. One may wonder how Forex trading can be such a lucrative earning opportunity since fluctuations in exchange is so little. But remember, when done in big volumes, a minor change can mean a lot. There are many non-monetary advantages to it as well. Anyone who wants to deal in Forex can do so, since only the basic knowledge is required for it.
